Foodmanac Privacy Policy
Foodmanac is designed as a mainly offline food-reference app. We limit data handling to what is needed for app features, optional support, content delivery, and technical diagnostics.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the Foodmanac Android application, package com.umeron.foodmanac, developed and published by Umeron Technologies. It also applies to this public privacy-policy webpage.
Foodmanac does not require an account and does not operate a user-profile database. We do not sell personal information.
Information stored on your device
The food catalog is bundled with the app. The following information may be created and stored locally in Foodmanac's app storage:
- saved or favorite foods;
- Mix Lab foods, quantities, and calculated totals;
- food comparison choices and selected nutrients;
- language and other app preferences; and
- draft issue or missing-food reports before you choose to send them.
Umeron Technologies does not receive this local data automatically. It normally remains on your device until you clear it, clear Foodmanac's Android storage, or uninstall the app.
Camera, gallery, and food-photo identification
Food-photo identification starts only when you choose to capture or select a photo. Android's camera or media picker may be used to provide that image to Foodmanac.
The selected image is analyzed on your Android device using a bundled Google ML Kit image-labeling model. Foodmanac does not upload the photo to Umeron Technologies, does not add it to an online account, and does not use it for advertising.
The feature provides possible food labels, not a guaranteed identification. You must confirm the exact food and preparation before opening nutrition information. Do not use image identification to decide whether an unknown plant, mushroom, medicine, chemical, or other substance is edible or safe.
Google ML Kit diagnostic data
Foodmanac uses the bundled Google ML Kit image-labeling SDK. According to Google's SDK disclosure, ML Kit may collect limited technical information for diagnostics and usage analytics:
- device manufacturer, model, operating-system version, build, and available ML hardware;
- Foodmanac's package name and app version;
- a per-installation identifier not intended to uniquely identify a person or physical device;
- performance measurements such as latency;
- API configuration, including image format and resolution, plus input and output sizes;
- feature version, event type, and error codes.
Google states that this data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and is not transferred to third parties. Google handles this diagnostic data under its own terms and privacy practices. The image itself is processed on-device and is not sent to Umeron Technologies.
Issue reports, missing-food requests, and support
Foodmanac lets you prepare an optional data-issue report or missing-food request. A draft remains on your device until you choose Email or WhatsApp. Foodmanac then opens the selected external app with a prepared message. Nothing is sent until you tap Send there.
If you send a message, Umeron Technologies may receive your sender name, email address or WhatsApp number, message content, app and record details included in the report, and any other information you choose to provide. We use it to respond, investigate the report, improve Foodmanac's data, prevent abuse, and maintain appropriate business records.
Please do not include medical records, passwords, financial details, identity documents, or other unnecessary sensitive information in a report.
Online images, source links, and external services
When internet access is available, approved food images may be requested from their credited source websites. The destination server may receive standard connection information such as your IP address, device or browser information, the requested file, and request time.
Food-source links can open websites outside Foodmanac. Email, WhatsApp, Google ML Kit, food-image hosts, your device's camera or media picker, Google Play, and your operating system are separate services governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Umeron Technologies does not control their independent data practices.

Security, retention, and international processing
Local Foodmanac information is protected by your device and Android's app-storage controls. Diagnostic information described by Google is encrypted in transit. Messages you send are transmitted through the email or WhatsApp service you select.
Reports received by Umeron Technologies are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, verify or correct food data, prevent abuse, maintain appropriate records, and meet legal obligations. We delete or anonymize them when they are no longer needed. You may request earlier deletion by email, subject to any information we must retain for security or legal reasons.
External providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their policies and safeguards. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, but we use reasonable measures appropriate to the information involved.
Your choices and data deletion
- Photo identification: Do not select or capture a photo if you do not want to use this optional feature.
- Reports: You can cancel before tapping Send in your email or WhatsApp app.
- Local data: Open More → Local data controls in Foodmanac to clear saved foods, comparison choices, Mix Lab data, preferences, and draft reports.
- All local app data: Clear Foodmanac's storage in Android settings or uninstall the app.
- Sent reports: Email us from the address or number used to send the report and provide enough detail for us to locate it.
Foodmanac has no cloud user account, so there is no online account to delete.
Children's privacy
Foodmanac is a general educational food reference and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly create profiles for or intentionally collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Health-information notice
Foodmanac provides general educational information only. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Food values can vary by variety, brand, serving size, preparation, storage, and laboratory method. Ingredient hints for prepared foods are incomplete and are not allergen labels.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Foodmanac's features, service providers, data practices, or legal requirements change. The current effective date appears at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated within an app update.
